Research Area

The scholarship focuses on Quantum Networks, specifically the experimental investigation and realization of advanced quantum photonic devices and subsystems for Measurement-Device-Independent Quantum Key Distribution (MDI-QKD).

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Must hold (or will obtain soon) a Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred additional experience includes:
  • Work experience (academic or industrial) or publications.
  • Outstanding experimentalist in quantum networks.
  • Experimental characterization of nanophotonics or quantum communication devices.
  • Specialization in quantum mechanics, quantum optics, quantum information science, or cryptography.
  • Fluent English (both speaking and writing).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Problem-solving skills in complex research contexts.

Description

The doctoral fellow position is tied to the CyberQ project, financed by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. The project aims to address challenges in scalability, performance, and practicality in QKD systems, paving the way towards fully device-independent CVQKD systems. You will engage in groundbreaking research, developing solutions to significant challenges in the field of quantum communication technologies.
