PhD Position in Single-Cell Genomics: A PhD student position is available in the research group of Prof. Christos Delidakis at the University of Crete, under the European HORIZON-WIDERA program. The project focuses on utilizing single-cell genomic approaches to study neural cancer models in Drosophila, with an emphasis on transcriptional networks and cell signaling. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with international partners and attend conferences.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • BSc in Biological Sciences or a related field
  • MSc in Biological Sciences or a related field
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • At least 1 year of independent research experience in Molecular/Cell Biology
  • Desired qualifications:
  • Experience with Drosophila genetics
  • Bioinformatic analysis of NGS data

Job Description:
The successful candidate will work on the generation and analysis of cancer models in Drosophila, contributing to specific deliverables of the research project. This includes developing genomic and bioinformatic tools, performing microsurgical manipulations, advanced imaging, and ex vivo culture. The candidate will have opportunities to network with European partners and apply for personal fellowships.
