Research Area
The PhD project focuses on a fundamental question in molecular biology: How is human translation controlled at the structural level? You will investigate the structures of ribosomal complexes involved in eukaryotic translation control, operating at the interface of structural biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology.

Eligibility/Qualification
Must-have:
- MSc or equivalent degree (preferably in Life Sciences).
- Strong interest in structural biology.
- Strong spoken and written English.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with structural biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology methods.
- Programming skills.
- Experience with human or yeast cell cultures.
The ideal candidate will have a background in structural biology and translation, but curiosity, dedication, and a collaborative mindset are highly valued.
Scholarship Description
This fully funded PhD position offers an attractive ERC-funded salary (starting at 30,000 CZK net, with yearly increases), allowing for a high quality of life in Brno, one of Europe’s safest regions with an affordable cost of living.
