PhD Position in Supramolecular Chemistry: The University of Siegen is offering a part-time researcher position in the field of supramolecular chemistry, housed within the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology. This role is designed to support the candidate’s doctoral studies and is limited to a period of three years.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- An above-average academic degree (Master or equivalent) in Chemistry
- A Master’s thesis in the field of supramolecular chemistry is advantageous, particularly with aspects of organic synthesis and coordination chemistry
- Experience with the synthesis of organic ligands, coordination complexes, and cage compounds
- Proficiency in the characterization of supramolecular structures using spectroscopy techniques (e.g., diamagnetic and paramagnetic NMR, UV/vis) and photochemistry
- Strong knowledge of English; knowledge of German is advantageous
- Participation in scientific exchanges (e.g., conferences) and/or publications is desirable
- Teaching experience in organic chemistry is an advantage
Job Description:
- Conduct research in the field of supramolecular chemistry aiming for a doctorate
- Perform independent research and practical laboratory work, including the synthesis of organic ligands and investigating the self-organization of supramolecular structures
- Collaborate with other scientists in both national and international contexts
- Participate in preparing and editing publications and progress reports
- Teach organic chemistry, including supervising Bachelor’s and Master’s research projects
- Engage in research group tasks
