Eligibility/Qualification:
We are seeking a proactive and creative thinker with a keen interest in chemistry, biomaterials, and bioengineering. Candidates with a solid background or affinity for synthetic/polymer chemistry, hydrogels, or biomaterials are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in scientific English for listening, speaking, reading, and writing is required. Knowledge of Dutch is not mandatory, and candidates without a Master’s degree are welcome to apply.
Job Description:
The selected PhD candidate will undertake research related to the synthesis of novel polymers and engineering of dynamic hydrogel biomaterials for the creation of injectable, 3D printable, and patternable cell culture materials/bioinks. Collaborating within the framework of an ERC Consolidator project (SupraValent) and a multidisciplinary team (BioMatt Group), the candidate will work towards expanding the toolbox of reactions and reversibility of supramolecular systems, focusing on the impact of molecular structure, processing conditions, and types of reactions on supramolecular scaffolds.
