Fully Funded PhD Position in Supercontinuum Generation for Next-Generation Tunable Ultrafast Lasers
Designation: PhD Candidate
Research Area: The project focuses on the development of new fiber designs for innovative applications in ultrafast laser technologies and supercontinuum sources, specifically in the field of photonics with a focus on photonic crystal fibers for nonlinear optics.
Location: CNRS-FEMTO-ST Institute, Besançon, France
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in physics, optics, lasers, or related fields
- Prior hands-on experience in experimental optics, lasers, and fiber optics
- Proficiency in numerical modeling using Matlab or Python
- Excellent written and spoken English skills; basic level of French would be advantageous
- Open-mindedness, curiosity, and the ability to work independently and in a team
Job Description:
As a PhD candidate, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing state-of-the-art ultra-stable supercontinuum sources
- Conducting advanced scientific research in photonics, focusing on photonic crystal fibers for nonlinear optics
