Eligibility/Qualification
- A master’s or equivalent degree/diploma in a project-related field (e.g., ecology, geography, paleoecology, botany, bioinformatics, biostatistics, environmental sciences).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Motivation to learn new skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.
Desirable but Not Required:
- Prior experience in programming (especially in R), data analysis, or knowledge of functional ecology.
Description
The PhD position will explore global fossil pollen data alongside modern plant traits to understand historical ecosystem dynamics and contribute insights into mitigating anthropogenic climate change’s effects. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive medical insurance, social security, and support settling into a foreign culture. Additionally, the opportunity to develop skills in advanced coding, data analysis, statistical modeling, and presentation will be provided.
Financial Compensation:
- Salary of 7,000 CZK/month before taxes (approx. 5,500 CZK/month after taxes).
- Tax-free PhD stipend of 28,000 CZK/month (approx. 1,100 EUR/month).
