Eligibility/Qualification

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must have:

  • A completed master’s degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or similar fields.
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (for teaching in both languages).

Desired Qualifications

  • Interest in pursuing a dissertation in vehicle safety with a focus on integral vehicle safety and autonomous driving.
  • Good programming skills in Python.
  • Enjoyment of independent problem-solving and working in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Teaching enthusiasm and willingness to undergo further training in university didactics.
  • Experience in the field of vehicle safety (at least one of the following):
  • Knowledge of data analysis and modeling techniques (statistical analysis, machine learning).
  • Understanding of human body model simulations.
  • Familiarity with crash simulations in LS-Dyna.
  • Understanding of pre-crash simulation scenarios (agent simulation).

Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conceptualization and implementation of vehicle safety assessments based on simulations.
  • Development of tools for the simulation and evaluation of results.
  • Support in various research projects, planning, executing tests, and analyzing results.
  • Preparation of scientific publications and a dissertation.
  • Independent design and delivery of laboratory exercises on vehicle safety.
  • Assistance in lectures and examination corrections.
  • Supporting research project applications and administrative activities.
