PhD Position in Water Disinfection Chemistry: Applications are invited for a PhD position focusing on Water Disinfection Chemistry at ETH Zurich. Eligibility/Qualification
- MSc degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Experience in environmental engineering, chemistry, or related fields.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of water treatment processes is desired but not mandatory.
Description
This PhD project involves:
- Developing analytical approaches to quantify chloronitramide.
- Investigating the formation mechanisms of chloronitramide influenced by water quality parameters.
- Gaining expertise in analytical chemistry techniques like liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and membrane inlet mass spectrometry.
- Opportunities for scientific communication and mentorship through co-supervision of undergraduate and master’s theses.
- Freedom to shape the project’s direction beyond initial goals.
