PhD Position: Marine Syllidae Annelids: A 4-year fully-funded PhD position is available at the Biology Department of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), focusing on exploring the endocrine system and molecular mechanisms that synchronize reproduction in marine annelids, particularly within the Syllidae family. The research will be conducted under the supervision of Patri Alvarez-Campos, as part of the EVORHYTHM project funded by the Spanish Research Council.

Job Description:
The PhD research will focus on investigating the evolution of reproductive biorhythms in marine worms using cutting-edge methodologies like bulk RNA sequencing, tandem mass spectrometry-based proteomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, and functional assays. The research will dig into the molecular and cellular nature of environmental sensors and endocrine organs in marine Syllidae annelids. The successful candidate will receive training on various laboratory techniques and bioinformatics tools to advance the research.
