Eligibility/Qualification

  • A university master’s degree in:
  • Agriculture
  • Environmental sciences
  • Trade economics
  • Interest in sustainability issues
  • Experience with quantitative research methodologies, including mathematical programming and scenario modelling
  • Familiarity with data and spatial analysis (preferably in R or QGIS)
  • Willingness to learn qualitative data gathering and analysis

Description

The selected candidate will conduct cutting-edge research on the impact of trade on land use changes and the environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Enhancing the land use model GLOBIOM and its integration with macro-economic models
  • Processing data, analyzing results, and implementing various scenarios for sustainable trade agreements
  • Conducting case studies using both quantitative and qualitative methods to assess impacts on land use changes

The position is part of the Horizon Europe ENhanced understanding of Trade Impacts on Climate, industries, and the Environment (ENTICE) project.
