Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Physics or a related field.
  • Experience in nanophotonics/plasmonics and single-molecule microscopy is a plus.
  • Research-oriented attitude.
  • Motivated to develop teaching skills and coach students.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English (C1 level).

Job Description

As a PhD candidate, you will:

  • Leverage novel dielectric and plasmonic metasurface designs for fluorescence sensing.
  • Perform colloidal assembly of plasmonic metasurfaces and functionalize them with biomolecules.
  • Quantify fluorescence enhancement mechanisms through single-molecule spectroscopy and super-resolution microscopy.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and work on state-of-the-art single-molecule microscopy systems.
