PhD Position on Perception and Action in Interceptive Behaviors in Sports

Location: University of Twente, Netherlands

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences, Sports Science, Interaction Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience or interest in Ecological Psychology / Ecological Theory
  • Proficiency in scientific programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R)
  • Strong background in collecting, processing, and analyzing biomechanical/kinematic data
  • Fluency in English for effective communication

Job Description:

  • Develop and test ecological models of athletes’ visual control of action in team sports
  • Collect kinematic data to understand perceptual information guiding interceptive behaviors
  • Work with sensor platforms such as XSens Link, OptiTrack, JohanSports GPS tracking, Tobii eye tracking
  • Conduct research that will be published in top-tier conferences and journals
