Research Area
The research focuses on the impact of social media on political discourse, exploring the roles of LLMs in analyzing, critiquing, and enhancing online communication.
Eligibility/Qualification
- MSc degree (or equivalent) in computer science or a closely related field
- Strong programming skills and experience in machine learning, especially natural language processing
- Interest in political communication, social media analysis, and computational social science
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of Dutch is not required; Dutch language classes available
Description
The selected candidate will have significant freedom to develop their research project within the broader theme of leveraging LLMs for social media improvement, addressing the complexities of misinformation, polarization, and online manipulation. Candidates are expected to assist in teaching undergraduates and master’s students while attending international meetings and courses.
