PhD Position on Microbiome-Mediated Adaptation of Daphnia to Pollution (m/f/x)
The successful candidate will contribute to the POUNDER project, focusing on the microbiome-mediated adaptation of Daphnia to chemical pollution in urban ponds. The research aims to understand if such adaptation enhances the resilience of pond ecosystems. This 3-year position, located in Berlin-Friedrichshagen, involves field sampling, laboratory experiments, data analysis, and statistical evaluation.
Eligibility: Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biology, environmental sciences, or a related field. A keen interest in eco-evolutionary and host-microbiome interactions, along with previous hands-on experience in experimental work, is desirable. Proficiency in statistical analysis, particularly in R, and excellent English skills are required.
