Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in (Applied) Physics, (Biomedical) Engineering, Imaging Engineering or equivalent.
- Profound experience in data processing/programming (preferably in Python or Matlab).
- Strong background in optical instrumentation, spectroscopy, and image processing.
- Affinity with medical applications and device design.
- Hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for practical work.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and managerial skills.
Job Description: The PhD candidate will contribute to the technical development of an advanced imaging needle ‘arthroscope’ integrating optical imaging and spectroscopic techniques. Responsibilities include hardware development, algorithm advancement for data processing, and evaluation through in vivo human samples. The role involves collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and conducting research at the University of Twente and Amsterdam UMC.
