Eligibility/Qualification:
- MSc degree in Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong background in machine learning and computer vision (natural language processing knowledge is a plus).
- Strong mathematical foundations in statistics, calculus, and linear algebra.
- Proficient programming skills, preferably in Python.
- Experience with AI/HPC supercomputing is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills in English.
- Prior publications in relevant conferences or journals are advantageous.
Job Description:
- Conduct research and development on perceptual foundation models leveraging advances in deep learning and computer vision.
- Invent, develop, and evaluate methods for pre-training and fine-tuning perceptual foundation models.
- Collaborate with various university departments and industry partners within the NWO Perspectief Foundation for Industry (FIND) project.
- Present findings at international conferences and in academic journals.
- Assist in teaching activities, including lab assistance and supervision of students.
- Complete and defend a PhD thesis within the defined duration.
