PhD Position on High-Efficiency Power Electronics for Solar-Integrated E-Mobility Systems (SUN-TRANS Project)

Location: University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification:
- MSc in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Power Electronics, or a closely related field.
- Strong fundamentals in converter design, control, and magnetics.
- Experience with wide-bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) is a plus.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation tools (e.g., PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- A collaborative and self-driven approach.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Develop automotive-grade DC-DC and bidirectional converter systems for vehicle-integrated photovoltaics (VIPV) and smart charging hubs.
- Design, simulate, and validate converter prototypes that comply with safety standards.
- Work in collaboration with European partners including TÜBITAK MAM, Siemens, and University of Warwick.
- Participate in pilot demonstrations in Romania, Türkiye, and Spain.
- Engage in both hands-on laboratory development and system-level optimization.
