Eligibility/Qualification

  • Completed or soon-to-complete master’s degree in (electro)chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
  • Enthusiasm for experimental research and an affinity for sustainable solutions and membrane science.
  • Experience with electrochemical systems or membrane fabrication is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Proficient in English.

Job Description

The successful applicant will focus on:

  • Developing diaphragms and separators for alkaline electrolysis.
  • Ensuring excellent ionic transport, limiting gas crossover, and withstanding harsh conditions (high pH and temperature).
  • Participating in the PhD program through the Twente Graduate School, providing opportunities for further education and the possibility to contribute to teaching (e.g., supervising BSc and MSc assignments).

Contract Details:

  • Full-time position for four years.
  • Salary: Gross monthly salary ranging from €2,901 (first year) to €3,707 (fourth year).
  • Additional benefits, including holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, pension scheme, and minimum 232 leave hours per year.
