Eligibility & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Hold an MSc degree in biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Interests: A strong interest in genetics, plant reproduction, molecular biology, and chromosome structure.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with R or another programming language.
  • Desirable Assets: Experience with genomics data analysis, microscopy, molecular biology techniques, or plant tissue culture. A willingness to develop teaching skills is also encouraged.

Job Description

As a PhD candidate, you will:

  • Contribute to the development of innovative plant breeding technologies.
  • Conduct research combining laboratory work with computational data analysis.
  • Collaborate with international partners on high-impact genetic and genomic research.
  • Engage in teaching responsibilities (up to 10% of your time).
  • Work within the Radboud Institute for Biological and Environmental Sciences (RIBES).
