Fully Funded PhD Position: Thermodynamics of Ammonia-Water Mixtures

Eligibility/Qualification: Prospective candidates should have:
- A professionally relevant background
- Completed a five-year Norwegian degree program, with 120 credits at master’s level
- Strong academic background with an average grade equivalent to B or better
- Proficiency in English (written and oral)
- Admission to the faculty’s doctoral program (if not already admitted, candidates must meet admission requirements)
Description: The PhD candidate will conduct research on the thermodynamics and interfacial phenomena of ammonia-water mixtures, with a focus on understanding the spreading and dissolution of ammonia in water. The research aims to address challenges related to possible spills of liquid ammonia during transportation, particularly on ships. The candidate will work closely with Prof. Øivind Wilhelmsen and collaborate with the Thermodynamics group. Duties include carrying out research, writing academic papers, participating in conferences, completing mandatory courses, writing a PhD thesis, and defending the thesis upon completion.
