PhD Position within EU-project: The Institute of Nature Conservation, Polish Academy of Sciences (INC PAS) in Kraków, Poland, invites applications for a highly motivated and creative candidate for a fully-funded Ph.D. position within the EU-funded project PollinERA. The project aims to understand pesticide-pollinator interactions to support EU Environmental Risk Assessment and policy. The position is for 48 months, starting from March 2024 to February 2028.

Study Area: Ecology, ecotoxicology, physiological ecology, landscape ecology.

Scholarship Description: The PollinERA project focuses on moving beyond the current assessment of single pesticides to an ecologically consistent evaluation of their effects on insect pollinators. The Ph.D. candidate will actively contribute to tasks related to pollinator exposure, sensitivity, toxicity effects, and the development of standardized ecotoxicological tests.

Eligibility:

  • MSc degree in biology or ecology or a related field (biochemistry or biotechnology).
  • Knowledge in ecotoxicology and ecology.
  • Experience in laboratory study and data analysis.
  • Physical ability to work in various field conditions.
  • Good spoken and written English skills.
