PhD Positions in Biomolecular NMR at IST Austria
The PhD positions cover three primary study areas: understanding chaperone function in protein folding, investigating protein translocation into mitochondria, and exploring protein dynamics using magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR. The research involves a combination of solution- and MAS NMR techniques, biochemistry, biophysics, and cellular experiments.
Scholarship Description: Candidates will contribute to projects deciphering the mechanisms of protein-import machinery, unraveling chaperone-assisted protein folding, and studying protein dynamics at a residue-specific level. The research includes developing MAS NMR methods, isotope labeling, and computational tools for a comprehensive understanding of biomolecular processes.
Eligibility: Applicants should hold a degree in biochemistry or biophysics, with theoretical knowledge in structural biology research. Practical experience in protein production is a plus. We seek candidates with creative thinking, critical analysis skills, and a strong motivation to overcome technical challenges.
