PhD Positions in CoCoGel Project: The Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (IESL-FORTH) is offering two (2) PhD student positions as part of the CoCoGel project. This project, funded under HORIZON-TMA-MSCA-DN-ID, focuses on exploring soft matter physics to develop innovative materials. Successful candidates will join a network of experts from 12 European labs and industries, working on experiments, simulations, and industrial applications.
Two (2) PhD Student Positions in CoCoGel Project: Controlling Colloidal Gels for Novel Sustainable Materials
Study Area: Soft Matter Physics
Location: IESL-FORTH, Heraklion Crete, Greece
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Greece for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the recruitment start date.
- Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in fields covering soft matter fundamentals (e.g., chemical engineering, physics, materials science).
- Background in physical chemistry and laboratory experience with soft materials (polymeric, colloidal).
- Two (2) recommendation letters.
- Publications and presentation/communication skills.
- Additional qualifications such as experience in experimental techniques (especially rheology, scattering, or microscopy), and programming/computer simulations are desirable.
Description: The selected candidates will enroll in the PhD program of the Department of Materials Science and Technology at the University of Crete. They will work on two distinct research projects:
