PhD Positions in Advanced Characterisation/Modelling of Tungsten
Designation:
Doctoral Student in Advanced Characterisation/Modelling of Tungsten
Research Area:
Materials Science with emphasis on tungsten and its alloys, microstructure modelling, and advanced materials characterisation.
Location:
Stockholm County, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- A Master’s degree in Materials Science or a related field.
- Basic eligibility under Swedish Higher Education Ordinance:
- Candidates must not have resided or conducted their main activity in Sweden for more than 12 months in the 3 years preceding the recruitment date.
- Competency in English equivalent to English B/6.
- Strong goal orientation, perseverance, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Job Description:
- Develop thermodynamic and kinetic models of tungsten and its alloys for integration into microstructure models.
- Collaborate closely with experimental researchers to validate models and optimize processes.
- Characterise tungsten and its alloys at the atomic level using techniques such as atom probe tomography (APT) and electron-ion microscopy.
- Contribute to the development of crack-free tungsten components and engage in international research collaborations.
