PhD Positions in Quantum Nanophotonics: Chalmers University of Technology is inviting applications for PhD positions in Quantum Nanophotonics. This opportunity is part of a pioneering initiative to develop quantum technology and build a useful quantum computer. The positions are based in the Quantum Photonics Laboratory (QPL), offering a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Photonics, Nanotechnology, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field by the starting date.
  • Bachelor’s degree holders may qualify in certain cases.
  • Experience in quantum engineering, photonics, nanofabrication, nanomechanics, cryogenics, or superconductivity is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
  • A collaborative spirit, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential.

Job Description:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in quantum nanophotonics.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of scientists, applied physicists, and engineers.
  • Develop innovative hardware solutions to address energy loss in quantum processors.
  • Utilize advanced facilities, including the MC2 Nanofabrication Laboratory cleanroom and state-of-the-art cryogenic, microwave, and optical measurement tools.
  • Participate in the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT) initiative.
  • Engage in independent research while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
