Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in industrial engineering, energy engineering, innovation studies, technology management, or economics/public policy focusing on energy/technology.
  • Interdisciplinary candidates are welcome.
  • Strong dedication to scientifically rigorous work relevant to decision makers in public and private sectors.
  • Team-oriented working style.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Per MSCA rules, candidates must have spent less than 12 months in Switzerland in the 36 months preceding their recruitment.

Job Description

The PhD candidates will:

  • Analyze the competitiveness of various long-term stationary energy storage technologies.
  • Apply and further develop innovation theory-based frameworks and system dynamic modeling.
  • Explore potential trade disruptions to inform energy policy, industrial strategy, and geopolitical considerations.
  • Participate in internships with Siemens Energy and exchange programs with the Energy Systems Lab at Imperial College London.
