Job Description
As a member of the Thermo-Chemomechanics and Interfaces Group, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Advanced micro-/nano-mechanical testing of interfaces in multilayered films across a wide temperature range (cryogenic to elevated) and strain rates using in situ SEM techniques.
- Characterization of interface deformation mechanisms using advanced electron microscopy techniques (SEM, TEM).
- Finite Element Modeling to design and optimize micromechanical testing geometries.
- Dissemination of research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences.
Eligibility/Qualification
- For PhD Applicants: Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Physics, or related fields.
- For Postdoc Applicants: PhD in the relevant field.
- Strong academic background and understanding of materials science and mechanics.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with nanoindentation; experience with SEM-based in situ micromechanical testing is preferred.
- Prior exposure to transmission electron microscopy is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
