PhD Programme on IEGSD: Maastricht University invites highly-motivated and talented individuals, especially from the Global South, to apply for the PhD Programme on Innovation, Economics, Governance, and Sustainable Development (IEGSD). This program, offered by UNU-MERIT Graduate School, provides high-quality education, training, and supervision, leading to a doctoral degree. The program covers multidisciplinary research in the economics of innovation, public policy and governance, and societal transformations, aiming to contribute to academic debate and policy innovation.

Job Description: The PhD Programme offers two tracks:

  1. Full-time track: For residents working primarily on their research in Maastricht, funded by UNU-MERIT fellowship, external grant, scholarship, or employment contract.
  2. Dual career (part-time) track: Suited for professionals and researchers with full- or part-time jobs, allowing them to combine their careers with obtaining a PhD. Candidates secure their own funding and work mainly on their dissertation, visiting Maastricht at least twice a year for training and interaction.
