Eligibility/Qualification
- A first-class degree at the MEng/MSc level in Chemical/Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- A strong passion for sustainability, industrial ecology, and environmental issues.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
Description
The student will develop a methodological framework for absolute environmental sustainability to assist decision-making within FMCG companies. Specifically, the project will involve:
- Developing models to quantify anthropogenic impacts against Planetary Boundaries.
- Translating Planetary Boundaries to company scales through value principles.
- Applying this methodology to assess the environmental sustainability of real-world products.
The PhD candidate will gain expertise in conducting high-quality LCA studies, liaising with technical experts, and developing multidisciplinary data models.
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Andrea Paulillo and closely collaborate with Reckitt while benefitting from partnerships with institutions such as the DTU Centre for Absolute Sustainability and the Joint Research Centre.
