Eligibility/Qualification

  • Required:
  • Master’s degree or in the process of completing a Master’s thesis in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Strong background in Statistics and Linear Algebra.
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Desired:
  • Experience in broader topics in Computer Science, Information Theory, or Mathematics.
  • Candidates with foreign completed degrees corresponding to a minimum of four years in the Norwegian educational system.

Description

The PhD position emphasizes developing machine learning algorithms suitable for real-world applications such as the marine domain and neuroscience. The candidate will explore how neural networks can optimally extract information from data. The position is supported by the FRIPRO Grant for Early Career Scientists and aligns with ongoing research at the Integreat Centre focused on integrating domain-specific knowledge with data.
