Post-Doctoral Fellowship Position at USA, Ozbolat Laboratory at Penn State
  • Title: BESPOKE SUSTAINABLE METAL CATALYSTS
  • Designation: PhD Researcher
  • Research Area: Chemistry
  • Sustainable carbon dioxide reduction and transformation by bespoke non-precious metal-based catalysts
  • Location: University of Tasmania, Hobart
  • Eligibility/Qualification: Applicants must have a First Class Honours degree or equivalent qualifications/relevant research experience. Skills in organic, inorganic, and organometallic synthesis, including Schlenk techniques, are essential. Experience in standard spectroscopy characterization techniques (NMR and IR spectroscopy) is required. Australian, New Zealand, and international candidates are eligible.
  • Job Description: The successful candidate will work on developing new catalysts inspired by enzymes for CO2 valorization, to generate knowledge in understanding CO2 activation by organometallic complexes and provide innovative strategies for transforming CO2 into value-added materials. The research outcomes will enhance the capacity to utilize CO2 as a carbon feedstock for fuel and material production, contributing to significant economic and environmental benefits through CO2 recycling and upcycling.
  • How to Apply: Interested applicants should select the project, ensuring that they meet the eligibility and selection criteria. Contact Dr. Curtis Ho to discuss suitability and project requirements. In the application, candidates must submit a signed supervisory support form, a CV including contact details of 2 referees, and the project research proposal, along with the title of the project copied from the advertisement.
