Eligibility/Qualification
- Recent MSc degree in plant breeding, genetics, or molecular biology.
- Must be eligible to apply for doctoral studies at the University of Helsinki or other eligible Finnish universities within six months of recruitment.
- Solid background in working with plants/crops.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Good co-operative and communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally.
Description
The selected candidate will be involved in the Fabagen project that seeks to identify genetic variants in faba beans to enhance their resilience against abiotic and biotic stresses due to climate change. Responsibilities include conducting greenhouse and field experiments, performing high-throughput phenotyping, data analysis, and authoring high-quality scientific publications. The candidate will also join the doctoral programme at Luke.
