PhD Scholarship: Asthma: The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Université de Sherbrooke invites applications for a PhD scholarship in the ORACLE2 project. Led by Prof. Simon Couillard and Prof. Yohann Moanahere Chiu, this project aims to assess asthma attack risk in randomized trials through a systematic review of individual participant data.

PhD Scholarship: Assessing Asthma Attack Risk in Randomized Trials

Location: Université de Sherbrooke, Canada

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • M.Sc. in biostatistics, epidemiology, or MD with training in related sciences.
  • Excellent research skills with a strong academic record.
  • Familiarity with R software and experience in database manipulation is desirable.
  • Interest in asthma treatment and knowledge transfer, including discussions with clinicians.
  • Proficiency in English required; proficiency in French is desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate with international partners.

Description: The ORACLE2 project aims to derive a clinically useful risk scale using individual patient data from placebo treatment arms in asthma clinical trials. This scholarship entails conducting further analyses on the collected data, including association studies, descriptive analysis of participants with type-2 inflammation, and modeling placebo effects.
