PhD Scholarship at Aarhus University, Denmark

AIAS-COFUND Fellowships for Young Talented Researchers in Denmark
PhD Scholarship at Aarhus University: Join us at Aarhus University for an exciting opportunity to contribute to the molecular understanding of the human longevity factor FoxO3. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to embark on a 3-year PhD student position in the Viennet lab at iNANO. This project aims to decipher the mechanisms underlying the regulation of FoxO3 by phosphorylation.

Title

Cracking the Code of FoxO3 Transcription Regulation by Phosphorylation

Designation

PhD Fellowship/Scholarship in the Nanoscience program at Aarhus University, Denmark.

Research Area and Project Description

The project focuses on investigating how phosphorylation modulates FoxO3 binding to DNA in terms of affinity and specificity. This will involve preparing specifically phosphorylated samples of FoxO3 and conducting structural, biophysical, and cell biology experiments, with a focus on using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) for structural characterization.

Location

Place of employment: Aarhus University, Denmark
Place of work: Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO), Gustav Wieds Vej 14, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark

Eligibility/Qualification

Applicants should possess a relevant Master’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, nanoscience, or related fields. Previous experience in recombinant expression or protein purification is a plus. Strong English communication skills, both oral and written, are required.

Job Description

The successful candidate will engage in wet lab work, including bacterial recombinant expression, isotope labeling, protein purification, chemical biology, enzymology, biophysical interaction assays, and mammalian cell culture, alongside NMR-based research. International collaboration and presentation of research at conferences are integral parts of the project.
