Job Description
The PhD project aims to develop novel biomedical adhesives by functionalizing polysaccharides to modulate their interactions. The research involves:
- Performing double chemical modification of polysaccharides using green chemistry methods.
- Studying polymer/polymer interactions and the formation of polyelectrolyte complexes.
- Chemically grafting polysaccharides with opposite charges and analyzing synthesis parameters.
- Investigating the mechanical and structural properties of the resulting hydrogels.
- Developing surfaces mimicking underwater bioadhesion for biomedical applications.
- Conducting comprehensive material characterization, including mechanical (tensile, adhesion) and structural analysis.
- The research will be conducted under the supervision of Alexandra Montembault, Aurelia Charlot, and Guillaume Sudre.
