✅ Eligibility / Qualification

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Strong background in:
    • Antenna theory
    • Microwave engineering
    • Antenna arrays
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of French is not required

🧪 Job Description

The selected PhD candidate will work on the development of novel modular phased array antenna concepts using AI-based modeling and optimization techniques. The research will focus on solving large-scale tiling problems for irregular antenna layouts while meeting strict communication and sensing constraints.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing AI-driven electromagnetic performance prediction models
  • Designing scalable and energy-efficient phased array layouts
  • Optimizing irregular modular antenna configurations
  • Validating methodologies through:
    • Full-wave electromagnetic simulations
    • Prototyping and experimental measurements
  • Working closely with IETR’s advanced platforms:
    • NanoRennes (nR) – Microfabrication
    • M²ARS – Antenna measurement, manufacturing, and prototyping

Duration: 36 months (3 years)
