Description
This PhD position focuses on the development of predictions for nitrogen efficiency traits (N-traits) in dairy cows based on milk spectra. The successful candidate will engage in the following tasks:
- Develop large-scale routine predictions of nitrogen efficiency traits.
- Model N-trait phenotypes over the lactation period.
- Estimate heritability and genetic relationships among N-traits.
- Develop genomic predictions of breeding values for Norwegian Red cows.
- Conduct data analysis and contribute to scientific publications.
Candidates are expected to create a structured plan to progress towards a PhD degree within the scholarship period.
