Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering with a strong focus in analytics.
  • Highly motivated and skilled experimentalist.
  • Strong skills in data analysis.
  • Experience with mass spectroscopy and/or Python programming is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Very good command of English; knowledge of German is an advantage.

Job Description

  • Development and application of novel sample preparation, data acquisition, and data analysis strategies for complex mixtures like algae-based bio-oils.
  • Development of high-resolution mass spectrometry strategies for better resolution, precision, and compound identification.
  • Evaluation of developed methods on different bio-oils and other complex mixtures.
  • Publishing research findings in international leading scientific journals.
  • Supporting teaching activities at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) and EPFL.
