PhD Scholarship in Cell Therapy for Diabetes Research

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Hold a second-cycle/advanced/master qualification (i.e., master’s degree) or demonstrate equivalent knowledge
  • Proficiency in English equivalent to the course English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school
  • Knowledge and experience of pluripotent stem cells, diabetes, cell differentiation, flow cytometry, microscopy, large-scale cell culture, cell therapy, and GMP are advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
  • Ambitious and highly motivated for the development of ATMPs for diabetes treatment

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be part of the National ATMP school, collaborating with six other students at different universities in Sweden. The main focus will be on further developing, upscaling, and GMP adapting existing pancreatic islet differentiation protocols. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for testing the safety and functionality of the differentiated cells in vitro and in animal models, as well as evaluating new transplantation strategies.
