Full-Time PhD Scholarship in Cellular Proteostasis and Neurodegeneration Research

Eligibility/Qualification:
- MSc degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field
- Solid knowledge in at least one of the following disciplines: molecular biology, biochemistry, neuroscience
- Understanding of mechanisms important for cellular proteostasis
- Basic hands-on experience in one of the fields: molecular biology, cell biology, fluorescent microscopy
- Prior experience in working with human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neurons would be an advantage but not essential
- Interest in cellular proteostasis and neurodegeneration
- Written and spoken fluency in English
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges, ability to work independently, analytical thinking
- Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude
Job Description:
As a PhD student, you will be responsible for:
- Performing experiments using cellular models (including iPSC-derived neurons)
- Analyzing protein trafficking using quantitative mass spectrometry
- Modifying gene expression using CRISPR/Cas9-based methodology
- Using a variety of molecular and biochemical techniques (including studying protein-protein interactions and modifications)
- Collaborating with team members
- Conducting literature research
- Participating in lab meetings and activities
- Writing publications
- Participating in the mandatory activities of the Doctoral School
