Eligibility/Qualification:
- Applicants must hold a second-cycle degree or equivalent, with at least 240 higher education credits, including 60 credits at the second-cycle level.
- For acceptance as a PhD student in Physics or Theoretical Physics, a BSc in Physics (or equivalent) is required, along with specific coursework in physics.
- Proficiency in English language, equivalent to English B in Swedish high school, or as demonstrated through standardized tests (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge/Oxford).
- Experience with X-ray techniques and programming, along with an aptitude for analyzing large datasets, will be advantageous.
Description: The selected PhD candidate will join the research group led by Prof. Martin Beye at Stockholm University’s Department of Physics. The project is part of a collaborative effort between universities in Germany and Sweden, as well as synchrotron facilities in Lund, Berlin, and Hamburg. The research focuses on employing advanced X-ray spectroscopy techniques, particularly X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS), to investigate the behavior of complex quantum materials during phase transitions and domain fluctuations. The insights gained from this research have the potential to revolutionize our understanding of material functionality, with implications for future material design and applications.
