Job Description:
The successful candidate will delve into the diverse factors influencing phage diversity, including host diversity, presence of other phages, and environmental factors like spatial structure. The research will involve analyzing public phage genome and metagenome data to estimate phage diversity, as well as formulating mathematical and computational models of phage evolution to explain observed patterns of diversity. Additionally, the candidate will work under the supervision of experts in mathematical biology, evolutionary modeling, and bioinformatics, contributing to the refinement of models based on genomic data observations.
