Research Area: Computational Fluid Dynamics and Machine Learning for Understanding Turbulence in Vortex-Dominated Flows (Rotorcraft, Fans, Wind Turbines, and Unmanned Vehicles)
Location: University of Memphis, Tennessee, USA
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in fields related to computational fluid dynamics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Significant computational and programming experience, preferably in C and Python languages, and the ability to work on large research codes.
- Experience with MPI would be desirable.
Job Description:
- Lead computational efforts in ongoing research in vortex-dominated and turbulent flows.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary research group and other faculty and students at the University of Memphis.
- Use and develop computational fluid dynamics and machine learning methods to understand turbulence in vortex-dominated flows.
- Conduct research on flows produced by rotorcraft, fans, wind turbines, and unmanned vehicles.
