Research Area: Evolutionary Biology and Microbiology

Location: Wageningen, Netherlands

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MSc degree in Biology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
  • Programming experience with languages such as Python and/or R
  • Documented experience in bioinformatics analyses
  • Strong interest in evolution, genomics, and microbiology
  • Proficiency in English at C1 level

Job Description:

  • Implement state-of-the-art bioinformatics tools to analyze the evolutionary histories of eukaryotic proteins
  • Interpret large-scale evolutionary analyses within the context of eukaryotic cellular complexity and diversity
  • Contribute to teaching and supervising BSc and MSc thesis students
  • Work in a stimulating environment at the forefront of evolutionary research under the guidance of Dr. Jolien van Hooff
