Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Successfully completed Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Profound knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermal engineering, and engineering mechanics.
  • Experience in Finite Element Method (FEM).
  • Programming skills in C, C++, or Python.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a results-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.

Description:

The PhD candidate will work on the development and optimization of a new generation of SOEC stacks, focusing on manufacturing with cost-effective materials and low sheet thicknesses. Tasks include:

  • Developing models to simulate heat and stress distribution within the stack.
  • Evaluating simulation results to identify design optimizations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external project partners.
  • Publishing and presenting research findings at relevant national and international conferences.
