PhD Scholarship in Immunobiochemistry: The Department of Immunobiochemistry at the Heidelberg University, Medical Faculty Mannheim, is offering a full-time PhD position. The selected candidate will work on a project under the DFG-funded research training group GRK2727: “Innate Immune Checkpoints in Cancer and Tissue Damage.” This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a background in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, who is passionate about immunology and cancer research.

Job Description
The PhD candidate will focus on:
- Investigating spatial and temporal regulatory mechanisms in NK cells and other innate lymphoid cells using cancer metastasis mouse models.
- Assessing the impact of the microenvironment and cellular neighborhoods on NK/innate lymphoid cell responses.
- Analyzing primary material from cancer patients and performing data mining.
- Developing novel tools for targeted interventions in colon cancer metastasis.
The role offers opportunities for lab visits and collaborations with the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, and Vienna University. The candidate will work within a dynamic and international team, with access to extensive training and career development programs offered by Heidelberg University.
