PhD Scholarship in Machine Learning for Proteins: Chalmers University of Technology, in collaboration with Stockholm University, is offering a fully funded PhD position in Machine Learning for Proteins. This opportunity is part of the Wallenberg DDLS-WASP project focused on studying membrane protein function, evolution, and disease through AI-driven research. The selected candidate will work at the AIMLeNS lab under the supervision of Asc. Prof. Dr. Simon Olsson.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • MSc or equivalent degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Strong quantitative background.
  • Proven experience in Machine Learning (evidenced by research publications).
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in English (Swedish not required).

Job Description

The PhD student will be responsible for:

  • Leading research projects in collaboration with project PIs and team members (60%).
  • Completing coursework as part of the doctoral program (20%).
  • Supporting the department through teaching and service (20%).

This is a fully funded position for a maximum of five years.
