PhD Scholarship in Molecular Biology: The Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position in the Doctoral School of Molecular Biology and Biological Chemistry. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree in biological sciences, molecular biology, natural sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques.
  • Prior experience with plant biology, particularly with Arabidopsis, is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Description:
The selected candidate will engage in a research project titled “Virus-triggered seed dormancy control.” The project aims to investigate the impact of viral infection on seed dormancy, focusing on molecular pathways such as the Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) pathway and its influence on key dormancy regulators like DOG1. The candidate will employ a range of molecular biology techniques to explore how plant viruses affect seed biology, contributing to the broader understanding of plant reproductive strategies and agricultural implications.
