Eligibility/Qualification

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must:

  • Have a strong background in synthetic organometallic chemistry.
  • Experience with air-sensitive techniques (glovebox, Schlenk line).
  • Meet PhD admission requirements, including:
  • An Australian Honours degree Class 1 or 2A or an equivalent qualification (at least AQF Level 8).
  • A research component of at least 6 months of full-time study achieving Distinction (75%) or substantial first-author refereed publication or competitive grant experience.
  • Be available to commence as a full-time PhD student mid-2026.

Description

This scholarship promotes the design of novel bismuth complexes aimed at hydrogen evolution reactions. The successful candidate will design ligands, synthesize bismuth complexes, and explore their potential as on-demand hydrogen sources.
